This policy explains what personal information Rhino Industrial Forklifts collects, why we collect it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are

What we collect
- When you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email: your name, phone number, email address, company name, and details about your equipment and what you need.
- When you sign up for stock updates: your email address, the date you signed up, and the page you signed up on.
- When you visit the website: like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which record your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. To stop spam, the sign-up form also keeps a one-way coded version of your IP address for one hour.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiries and give you quotes.
- To provide the sales, rental, repair and refurbishment work you ask us for.
- To send you stock and service updates, but only if you signed up for them.
- To keep the website secure and working.
We only process your information where POPIA allows it: with your consent, to carry out or prepare for an agreement with you, to meet a legal obligation, or where we have a legitimate interest such as keeping the website secure.
Stock and service updates
We only send marketing emails to people who have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any of our emails or by contacting us, and we will stop.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with service providers who help us run our business, such as our website host and email provider, or where the law requires us to. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s own privacy policy also applies to that conversation.
Some of these providers may store information on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to the standard POPIA requires.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. It saves one small setting in your browser so that the cookie notice does not show again after you close it. Staff who log in to manage the website use WordPress login cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep sign-up email addresses until you unsubscribe. We keep enquiry and customer records for as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected for, or as long as the law requires, for example for tax records.
How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, including limiting access to the website’s admin area and the information stored there.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or delete your information;
- object to us processing your information, or withdraw your consent;
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
